IEP Facilitation

When You’d Rather Fix it than Fight it

Linda Fusco is an independent, private IEP Facilitator. IEP facilitation is a voluntary process that can be utilized when the parents and the district agree that the presence of a neutral third party would assist in the facilitation of communication and the successful drafting of an IEP for the student. This process is most often utilized when there is a sense from any of the participants that the issues at the IEP meeting are creating an adversarial climate or the matter seems headed to due process.

Some of the areas that Linda has successfully facilitated include:

  • Writing a meaningful, measurable IEP
  • Transition
  • Compensatory education
  • School phobia
  • Student safety and crisis plans
  • Behavior, evaluations
  • Extended school year
  • Specially designed instruction

Linda can also provide ongoing services to insure that a case does not head back off track. These services can include training of staff on the new IEP, chairing monthly or quarterly meetings to troubleshoot potential issues, individual support for teachers in data collection and progress reporting and updating and revising the IEP.
